HKSAR Passport Number

Detects Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport numbers issued by the Immigration Department under the HKSAR Passports Ordinance (Cap. 539). HKSAR passport numbers are nine characters: the current series is the letter H followed by 8 digits; earlier biometric series used K followed by 8 digits, and KJ (48-page jumbo booklets) followed by 7 digits.

Known false positives

A letter H or K followed by 8 digits also occurs in booking references, invoice numbers and hardware serials. Mitigation: Every tier requires corroborating passport keywords within the proximity window; there is no bare value-only tier.
Malaysian passport numbers (A/H/K + 8 digits, covered by my-passport-number) structurally overlap the H/K series. Mitigation: Both patterns share generic terms such as "passport number" and "travel document", so cross-fires on generic-labelled documents are possible; HK-specific terms (HKSAR / 特區護照 / Immigration Department) separate Hong Kong context from Malaysian context only when they are present.
Sample passport numbers in application guides or templates may match the labelled form. Mitigation: The high and medium tiers apply the template-exclusion NOT-group to suppress sample and documentation content.
